Ražanj is situated around a deep bay of the mainland. This quiet bay is ideal for families looking for peace and active summer vacation. Due to its picturesque location Ražanj became popular and its coastline to the north and SE started to become developed with apartments and houses. The beautiful landscape, Ražanj has a Mediterranean climate with plenty of sunshine and very little rain which promises well spent vacation at sea. Now the settlement stretches to Kalebova Luka Bay on the north and Stivašnica (Stivančica) and Gorica Bays on the south. However, since Ražanj is well separated from the Magistral, the main road by a hilly area, mass tourism hasn’t reached the place – Ražanj has mainly preserved its calm Dalmatian village ambience.
When it comes to beaches, Ražanj has them many. The largest number of beaches are rocky with parts covered by concrete terraces, but families with children have choices for a beaches with safe and shallow water. One off them is the beach around Cape Varoš, where the coast is gravel. On the other side, the well-indented coastline with a myriad of coves, islets and rocky features is a paradise for diving – considering this, it’s not a wonder that several diving bases are located in Ražanj. In vicinity of the bay contains a cycle path, a small church from the 13th century. and the old fort on the hill Movar with a beautiful view of the entire landscape and adjacent islets and rocks.
In the summer evenings Ražanj offers a large selection of interesting things such as fishing evenings with music famous Dalmatian choir and the smell of freshly grilled fish. There are two grocery stores in Ražanj, one in the center and one in Mezaroca. The center also has its restaurant and bar. More demanding shopping can be done in Rogoznica or in Trogir.
Ražanj is located halfway between Split and Sibenik in the heart of Dalmatia. Away from the larger village of Rogoznica about 10 km. In Rogoznica there are post office, bank, pharmacy, health facilities and many restaurants. The airport is located on some 30 km.
